About Us
It all began in 1958 when Jean Bousquet founded Cacharel in Paris. Armed with skill, passion and creativity, Bousquet built his family-owned fashion house from the ground up.
In the 1960s, Cacharel made its mark with fresh, youthful ready-to-wear collections. Bousquet pioneered the concept of pret-a-porter, bringing high fashion to the mass market. Cacharel’s chic, modern designs liberated women from stuffy haute couture and restrictive undergarments.
The company grew quickly as Bousquet expanded into lingerie, swimwear and perfumes. Our first fragrance, Anaïs Anaïs, debuted in 1978 and became an instant worldwide phenomenon. Anaïs Anaïs introduced our signature floral-chypre accord and embodied the Cacharel spirit of femininity and romanticism.
