Despite progress, it seems from the annual assessments of air quality in Europe by the EEA (European Environment Agency) that air pollution still continues to pose a threat to human health and the environment. According to studies and alarming reports by expert institutions such as the WHO, EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency), the European Environment Agency (EEA) and the Dutch Health Council, the indoor air in our living, working, and mobility areas is often 2 to 5 and even up to 100 times more polluted than the air outside due to biological and chemical loads!
A healthy indoor climate, which is also perceived as pleasant, natural and fresh and conveys a feeling of comfort, is determined by an optimal interaction between humidity, temperature, air movement and air quality (clean breathing air, oxygen content and ion concentration in the air).
Humidity is often the critical factor for an ideal indoor climate. Excessive relative humidity in homes, apartments or buildings can give people health problems. Excessively dry air can have adverse effects on health.
