SID'S LEGACY

Sid Meier, often called the “Godfather of Computer Gaming” is one of the founders of Firaxis and the Director of Creative Development at the studio. His career as a game designer spans more than three decades, beginning with the founding of MicroProse Software in 1982. At Microprose, Sid created such legendary games as Silent Service, F-15 Strike Eagle, Civilization, Pirates!, and Railroad Tycoon. Sid’s titles helped launch an industry and establish the strategy genre as a cornerstone of video gaming. Sid and the talented teams at Firaxis continue his legacy of creating deep, lasting, classic games that are played by people all over the world.
