OLEHENRIKSEN Skincare is founded on loving yourself AND your skin. We are inspired by our effervescent Danish founder, Ole Henriksen, who first learned how to transform his own skin, then took that expertise to Hollywood to bring results—and joy—to his celebrity clientele.
OLE’S BEGINNING
Ole was born in Nibe, a picturesque village in the Danish countryside. His love affair with skincare began at an early age. On cold winter mornings, his mother would apply cream to his face to protect his skin from the harsh elements.
INSPIRATION IN INDONESIA
At 19, Ole ventured out into the world as a dancer and fell in love with Jakarta, Indonesia. However, while enjoying this tropical paradise, Ole developed cystic acne. His friend and talented esthetician, Lagita, transformed Ole’s skin through active botanical treatments, which focused on exfoliation and replenishment. Seeing his skin improve dramatically though proper care inspired Ole to help others with their skin concerns.
BECOMING THE SKINCARE EXPERT
Ole devoted himself to skincare and cosmetic chemistry, studying at the Christine Shaw College of Beauty in London. In 1975, he graduated with honors and decided to take his passion for skincare stateside.
THE 1ST CELEBRITY FACIALIST
Ole opened his spa in West Hollywood, mixing formulas in his kitchen and bringing them on the back of his bicycle to treat his celebrity clients. His commitment to transforming lives through skin wellness led him to become the world’s first celebrity facialist. By 1983, his iconic “Ole Glow” became so coveted that he decided to bottle his expertly crafted formulas and launch his namesake line, OLEHENRIKSEN Skincare.
