6 months ago, realizing Sabotage would turn 5 in April 2021, I set myself on a mission to document the journey of the studio as a way to celebrate while respecting the public health measures.

The objective was to string together the hundreds of anecdotes I heard over the years into a photodocumentary of how we got here, even going back to our upbringing as 80s and 90s kids.

Having no previous museology experience, the process evolved as the vision did. I spent a couple of hours here and there since last October gathering memories by conducting informal interviews with team members, digging into old cellphone backups, and even managing to take screenshots in a 14-year-old Flash game. The timestamped bits and pieces gathered ended up being on a timeline internally called “The 5 years project”, crafted with the help of Jibz, Thierry and Math.

It was an emotional journey, but the biggest challenge remained getting Thierry to stop working on Sea of Stars and flesh out the commentary of all the entries!
